Lee walked calmly up to his classroom, totally not ready for another days work. He wore his fave hat, a burnt orange and white lettering. He looked up at he unlocked the door and saw Shane. "Hey." Was all he said before walking inside and turning on the lights.

Shane considered walking in after Lee, like she normally did, and joke and laugh until class started, but decided not to. She wouldn't talk to him unless she had to. And when she had to it would only be "Yes sir, Mr. Pacheco." or " no sir, Mr. Pacheco." nothing more. She had to forget the fun times she had. And she had to let go all those memories that she had of him, especially that one, one of her favorite memories of all the times she has ever had, of when it was just her and him. Talking about random crap, nothing important, just life in general. They both listened to each other's problem and talked about them, though not always seriosly, which used to be their custom. But not anymore. She walked out into the courtyard and sat on a bench reading until the bell rang, and she had to go inside, and face the music.

Shane knew there was nothing she could do. She just had to live with it. Maybe she could get a transfer to another class. Maybe to Mr. Gabriel's class or something. She just wished she could talk to him. She tried to apologize and all he did was what men always do, say " hey its OK, nothings changed." and go on with life. Empty meaningless words that have no effect what so ever. She just wish she could tell him how she really felt, then the gap would shorted, but not heal. When she had to ace him during class he tried to revert back to old ways, but it wasn't the same, it was strained, forced somehow, from both of them. And it would be like that for a while, if not forever. They still were the same people, but know she looked at him and saw a funny man that was her teacher and deserved the highest amount of respect she could give, instead of her friend that just so happened to be her teacher that earned the highest amount of respect she could give. She wanted to be carefree again, she wanted to not have to worry about what she said he might think it creepy. She wanted to not care what he thought anymore, to forget his existence, but she knew that would never happen, that could never happen. He was a part of her, whether they liked it or not/
